The Loaf

I never thought of buying anything from this “branded” bread shop located at the Pavilion, KL. We bought half a dozen of The Loaf’s Cup Cakes as a birthday cake for our friends.

It looks tiny yet cute. What an easy business ya? I didn’t know how to process of making a cup cake. However, a cup cake must “LOOK” nice to the buyers’ eyes because the people just buy because of its topping.

This cup cake is slightly different than the usual cup cakes in which those look like a muffin with colourful toppings. At least this one has something else inside. Example, the Mango banana’s cup cake. It is not only having the mango taste but it has some raw banana inside it. πŸ™‚

Some close up pictures of the cup cakes.

Since the cup cakes are not my favourite, there is nothing much to add as my comment. Just see my pictures enough ya πŸ™‚

Tai Ping

Tai Ping

I went to this restaurant which is located at the Royale Chulan Hotel, KL during the last Ramadan 2010 season. Therefore, there is no crowd at all at this restaurant during the lunch time. This restaurant serves Halal Chinese food.

The chinese tea is free of charge here. Great thing is they give us Jasmine Tea.
Tai PingLet’s see what we have ordered this time. The Fried Rice with Salted Fish for small potion.
Tai PingNext, we ordered the Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. It is a generous portion of fish fillet and thick sweet and sour sauce.
Tai PingThen, we have cod fish. The Steamed Cod Fish looked rather small portion to us. It is because the cod fish is expensive one? Overall, I quite like this cod fish. Fresh! πŸ™‚
Tai PingOur last dish is the Chicken with Fried Dry Chillies and Chestnut. I noticed they used the thin-sliced kiwi fruits and cucumber as the garnish for this dish. It give quite a lot of this chicken cubes and chestnut.
Tai PingLast but not least, Fruit Platter consisted of watermelon, honeydew, rock melon and pineapple. The great one πŸ™‚

Chili Espresso

Chili Espresso has 2 branches in KL, one is in KL Sentral and another branch is at the North Point, Mid Valley (which I’m not too sure because I’ve not been to the Mid Valley’s branch before this).

As usual, during the lunch time, the restaurant is crowded with people working around the KL Sentral. So be early with you want to have a seat or else you are going to wait for a while.

The price range is from average to above average and they offer set lunch as well. Most of the people will sit outside of the restaurant because it’s quite limited place inside there. However, the ambiance is still good and it’s not very warm sitting outside.

Fried Rice With Chicken
For me, it’s just another fried rice. Nothing special to share. πŸ™‚

Fried Mamak Mee
One of the special ingredients that I found out inside this fried mamak mee is the potato. I hardly see any fried mamak mee with potatoes. I also get to eat some smashed peanuts inside the noodle. (Is it really has some?). It can be better if it’s a little bit drier. πŸ™‚

Singaporean Fried Noodle
It is a simple Singaporean fried noodle with a lot of vegetables inside. Do not think that it is little quantity, it is quite a lot when you finish eating it.

Restaurant Cosy

Restaurant Cosy at the first floor of the Ampang Park shopping complex is always full house when it comes to lunch time. I visited this shop twice with my colleagues. They serve mainly local food and it’s halal.

Fried Rice with Fried Chicken
My colleague ordered this fried rice and did not make any comment about it, so I’m not sure about its taste.

Fried Kway Teow
And, I ordered this fried noodle. For me it tastes quite normal and a little bit oily which I think hardly avoidable. I tasted some MSG taste inside this fried noodle too. πŸ™‚

House of Mother’s Heart

The House of Mother’s Heart is a vegetarian restaurant in Kelana Jaya, PJ. It offers healthy vegetarian food in which the menu is changing everyday. This visit I got to try 2 of its set menu which are the tom yam soup and lotus root soup.

In this set lunch, a drink is included.

The rice with some garnish. Fresh greens with special sauce and some black sesame on top of it.

Tom Yam Soup
Quite a lot of ingredients inside this soup and the tom yum taste is just nice.

Lotus Root Soup

Chee Cheong Fun
First I heard this chee cheong fun is quite spicy but when I tried it the taste is just now. I think they have made some improvement on it.

It’s located in Kelana Jaya, somewhere around the shoplot in the Plaza Glomac. And it is quite famous among the female workers around the area. πŸ™‚

Restaurant MinMax

The Restaurant MinMax is located at PNB Darby Park, somewhere behind the Tabung Haji at Jalan Tun Razak. It is a halal dim sum restaurant. It was my first time visiting to this restaurant.

During the lunch time, there are quite many office workers having lunch there. Besides dim sum offers, they have other main dishes and set lunches as well.

This time my colleagues ordered some dim sum to try and ordered a set lunch consisted of 5 main dishes and 1 bowl of soup.

I don’t remember if this is the deer’s meat pot.

Vegetable with prawn
Seeing these big prawns, I’m sure it should be nice and fresh. Yes, it’s fresh big prawn and the amount of prawns that they give is quite generous. It is Kai Lan with big prawns.

Double-boiled Soup
I don’t know what the soup’s name it is but it is really nice. Of course nice right when it is double boiled? Drink it while it is hot.
