Another great sharing for buffer lunch. This time is the Big Apple at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The theme for the buffet lunch on the day I visited the restaurant was Thai food.
Before I started, I walked around and took some pictures before other people walked in to the restaurant. Nicely placed and decorated fruits and desserts sections as below:-
When talk about desserts, I like this Thai’s dessert. I don’t know what it called but this dessert is quite refreshing to drink and it has some sliced jackfruit inside it.
Here is the rest of the food that I have tried. Enjoy!
Bread and butter
Beef Ball Noodle
Coffee and tea
The interior of the restaurant. It is quite spacious.
La Manila at Mid Valley is located at the 3rd floor. The restaurant has a simple white colour interior design and tables setting. It offers set lunches and ala carte too. Besides the local delicacies, they offer a range of different types of cakes as dessert too.
In this visit, we tried their set lunch.
The Shanghai Noodle
It is dry type of noodle which uses the wanton noodle. The ingredient includes roasted chicken, vegetable and pickled vegetable. It comes with a bowl of soup too. It looks delicious at the first glance but I do not know how it tasted.
The Fried Kway Teow
It does look a little bit oily but it’s unavoidable when you eat fried kway teow. The amount of noodle is quite generous and it tasted okay.
Curry Chicken Rice
The curry chicken looks very nice to eat right? Hmm… I have no idea how it tastes as well.
This set lunch comes with a drink and it costs RM11.90 per set.
I am attracted by The Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant‘s recent promotions banner at the Mid Valley, Level 3, near the Carls Jr. fast food outlet. I decided to try it out with my colleagues and have been there for few times.
I tried one of the their recent set lunch offers, the Tau Fu Jjikeh (Baked taufu, soya bean paste and vegetable). This set comes with a bowl of rice and 6 side dishes.
I noticed that the presentation of the side dishes are different than the previous visits, what I meant was reduced. For this promotion set, the side dishes are not refillable.
Kim Chi Stew
Another set lunch promotion offer which I tried a month ago, the Kimchi Stew. There is an option to choose either you want to have beef, chicken or pork for this dish. I tried the pork meat. It does come with side dishes:
This is what I meant by reduced or different. In both occasion, we are sharing our side dishes together. The first time visit, our side dishes are refillable.
The famous Korean (Instant) Noodle with seafood. It consists of some seaweeds, few prawns and some mushroom. I quite like the Korean noodle because it will not turn soft after it soaked in the soup for long time. It is a little spicy as usual. However, the prawns are not fresh.
Other dishes that we have tried after the promotions were:
Ginseng Chicken Soup
