Sushi Zanmai

I revisited Sushi Zanmai at Low Yat Plaza and I have taken a few more pictures of different food. Of course, I will not miss out the chance to eat the softshell crab again. Here, I have the pictures of the softshell crab and sushi with softshell crab.

Sushi ZanmaiAnother reason of visiting this Low Yat branch is for this unagi set. It was having promotion (June 2010) at this branch so we gave a try. Add more teriyaki sauce if you feel it is not enough sauce.

Once a while the KFC will launch something special or limited edition sets which only sell for a certain period of time. Back in year 2008, they introduced the Chicken Chop. I went to try it and took a picture of it.

I did not remember the taste of this chicken chop already.

Another limited edition set was the Chicken Rice.

Little Penang

I have been visited to both of the Little Penang restaurant at Mid Valley and KLCC branches few times. I have tried few of the different food, especially their noodles.

One of it is the Penang Mee Jawa. As you can see from the picture below, it consists of the sambal cuttle fish, some potatoes, beancurb and beansprouts. The sauce is not spicy and it tastes just nice with everything inside.

On another visit, I tried the Curry Noodle. Nothing much to shout about its curry noodle. It looks quite plain with few beancurb (tau fu bok), fishballs and some chicken meat.

My colleague liked this Kari Hantu Set which consists of curry beef, lobak and ju hu char (a typical Penang appetizer, and a staple of any Nyonya spread: a mix of stir-fried vegetables).

Another try is the Prawn Mee. I started to notice that they did not give shredded chicken meat and kangkung anymore. Maybe, there is a changed of description of ingredients inside Prawn Mee that I did not notice at all.

The portion is getting lesser than the previous one that I tried eight months before.

Their lobak is quite nice to eat. You can try to order this lobak as side dishes.

Pie Tee
Another side dish that I tried before. It is quite nice taste.

Penang Cendol
A typical Penang desserts that you can try.

Three Layer Tea
A unique combination of brown sugar (some use gula melaka), evaporated milk and red tea.

Purple Cane Tea House

If you are looking for Chinese tea house around Petaling Street, I have one recommendation. It is the Purple Cane Tea House which is located at Jalan Panggong. It is quite near to the Pasar Seni LRT station and it is somewhere behind the UDA Ocean near the MRT construction area. I hope it is still available. (Edited on 1st Jan 2014)

The shop is located at the 3rd floor of the old shop lots along the road. The environment at Petaling street branch is good for chit chatting with a small group of friends and you can choose to sit on the floor or on the wooden chairs. Students are the most commonly seen people followed by youngsters.

Chinese Tea

You can choose what type of tea that you like to drink and this is the presentation of the tea set. Common Chinese tea that you can find it here are Tie Guan Yin, Pu Er and Shu Xian.

If I am not mistaken, every patron to this tea house has to pay RM4.50 if you do not order any food or drinks. So, it is advisable to get at least a drink when you visit this tea house.

If you do not know how to prepare the tea, you can get the staff to demostrate once for you. It is pretty easy to do. You can refill the hot water as much as you like from the hot water dispenser. Let’s enjoy a cup of hot tea now!

Besides Chinese tea, they also have other type of tea such as green tea or the rose tea. I tried once for the Rose Tea and this is the presentation of the rose tea set.

Few dried rose buds and the teapot is using glasses. It looks quite elegant.

You can order cold drinks as well. The Grape Yolk Tea tried for once but I could not recall how it tasted.

I also ordered some snacks to eat while relaxing at this tea house. A bowl of tea eggs and the honey buns.

The honey bun is a bit oily because it needs to fry before dipping with honey.

The tea eggs are a bit over-cooked. Overall, the tea egg’s taste is still good.

Chilli’s Grill & Bar

I tried the Chilli’s Grill & Bar for few times before this. Overall, I do feel it is quite nice and enjoyable to eat at this restaurant. Early this year 2011, I revisited this restaurant with two of my friends. Since, they eat more often at this restaurant than me, I let them to order the good food.
