Halal Food, Malay food

On this beautiful Friday, I joined with another two colleagues to try the assam laksa noodle from SBread. Last time, when I queued at the Pulau Ketam Yong Tau Foo, another stall in front of SBread at the lower ground, The Gardens, I smelt the strong aroma of assam laksa broth coming from the this shop.

For the first time, I tried the Assam Laksa noodle. The staff prepared the thick round rice noodle inside the rice cooker pot which contains the thick assam laksa soup. During the preparation, I saw the staff soaked the noodle into the soup for few rounds before poured it into the white-blue bowl and added some garnishes such as the shredded cucumber, pineapple cubes, some fish (mackerel) and some mint leaves.

Oh, not to forget, a scoop of prawn paste that goes well with the assam laksa when you mix it into the soup. I personally feel this assam laksa is good enough with the strong assam laksa taste and the rice noodle is just nice, not too soft. It is worth to revisit and eat again.

My colleague ordered the Rendang Chicken Nasi Lemak. They use the traditional nasi lemak flavoured with pandan leaves with some sambal, anchovies, peanuts and half of the boiled egg to serve with the rendang chicken.

This is how the rendang chicken looks like. I do feel that it goes well with the nasi lemak. Maybe, I will try it next round to personally taste it.

Soya Bean
After finished eating, have a cold soya bean to reduce the body heat. Haha 🙂
