For the remaining days of April 2014, I would like to introduce some buffet lunch or high tea that I went to try in February 2014. The first one to introduce is The Cinnamon at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
I went there for the buffet lunch on one of the weekdays after the Chinese New Year (CNY). They were still offering some CNY dishes for patrons while its main dishes still the International selections such as Italian, Japanese, Indian, Malays and Chinese. All the food tasted average to good.
The restaurant was pretty spacious and it can accommodate a big crowd of people. However, on that day, there was no crowd, maybe because it was still on holidays. They offered CNY delicacies such as CNY biscuits. Most of them are often been seen.
For desserts, you may try the chocolate fondue.
I was not too sure how much did it cost per person but it was not a best buffet lunch in town.
Location : Cinnamon Coffee House, One Utama Shopping Centre, 1 Lebuh Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Bandar Utama, Malaysia.
Ambiance : Quiet and spacious restaurant. Good for family outing or big group of people for gathering.
Rating : 2/5. The wide selection of food to choose from but to me it was tasted normal.
Rating is between 1-5 with 1, the lowest and 5, the highest. The rating is based on my personal preferences
I was supposed to meet up my friend in Singapore who was working in Singapore at that time. Unfortunately, she couldn’t make it when she contacted me in the afternoon. So, I texted my cousin, asking her to have dinner together since she mentioned to me in the morning that she was not interested to go for the evening’s outing that day.
It was really eating chicken for the whole day. After the Arnold’s Chicken in the lunch time, I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken from Astons Express which is located at Singapore Post Office Centre. The set comes with two side dishes of your choices. So, I chose the Mac and Cheese and salad.
Meanwhile, my cousin ordered, Lemon Lime Chicken Chop. Both costs SGD7.90 each. I would say it is pretty reasonable price and the portion is generous as well. However, it would be great if they give us more sauce. Overall taste is okay. I quite liked the Mac and Cheese as it is very cheesy!
Location : #B2-08, Singapore Post Centre, 10 Eunos Road 8, Singapore. (Kopitiam’s Food Court)
Ambiance : Typical food court environment. At night, it is not many people around and very easy to find place to sit.
Rating : 2/5. It would be great if there is more sauces. Reasonable price.
Arnold’s – Nothing Tastes Better
My colleagues were searching high and low for this Arnold’s Chicken shops in Singapore. They like it very much and it seems like it is a must visit place whenever they are in Singapore.
On my last day of working, they decided to go there for our lunch break. The nearest branch to our office is at Pasir Ris. It was my first time travel to the end station in Singapore. The stall is an express counter and is located at Pasir Ris Town Park. There was no queue when we reached there. Unfortunately, this stall does not have air-conditioned. It is al-fresco style of dining experience, faced the lake ( I think so ) where some people are fishing.
After placed our order, we waited a while for our beeper to sound and we started our feast!
The combo set that we ordered comprised some of the food showed in the pictures above. Overall, I would say it tasted as good as Popeye and Texas Chicken. It fried until crispy and golden in colour. It was pretty hot when it was served because it was all freshly fried when we ordered and it was not oily. The chips and wedges were good but the buns were a bit rough.
Location : 94 Pasir Ris Central Pasir Ris Town Park Singapore,
Ambience : Al-fresco dining area, hot, very simple place.
Rating : 3/5. Satisfied with the quality of food served.

MOF – Ministry of Food-My Izakaya
After hours of baking the pineapple tarts, my cousin and I went down to Bugis Junction to hunt for food. There was no queue when we went to this branch. It was our late lunch cum dinner. MOF offers a wide range of food, drink and desserts selection.
After flipping through their menu, we finally placed our orders and it took a little while to serve our drink and then, our food. I think it is not dinner time yet so, the service is quite fast.
Having a weird name, we can guess it might have a weird taste too. Yes, it is pretty sour when I tried my first sip.
A Pot of Green Tea
I did not expect they serve me with a big pot of green tea, as it was just for 1 person serving. It was kept warm under a burning candle. It was a classy way of presentation. The taste of the green tea was strong. Thumb up!
Seafood Tonkatsu Ramen
I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen in pork soup. The first thing I tried when they served me the ramen was the milky pork soup. Yes, I liked the broth so much and tasted good on my first sip of the broth.
The ingredients inside were pretty generous portion and cooked near to its perfection or rather my level of perfection. I quite liked that they put the fried garlic on top because it did make the entire bowl of ramen smelt fragrant. I almost could finish the whole bowl of soup. I was very full that night.
I would definitely come back to try others.
Location : #02-45, Bugis Junction, 200 Victoria Street, Singapore.
Ambience : Space, good for group gathering and some of the corner seats can be quite quiet and some seats are al-fresco style.
Rating : 3/5. Good food, good environment and good services. The menu has various selections to choose.
