Miam Miam – A Japanese French restaurant locates at the Tampines One Shopping Mall. We discovered it by accident on one of the Friday’s afternoon lunch after trying to redeem some freebie for our Puma Night Run 2015. Yea, it was some time ago. I realised that I have not written my reviews on this restaurant.
It did take quite some time for 4 of us to decide what we wanted to eat. It looked very delicious for each of the item in the menu. And, we decided to order our own meal and added on with desserts. It is really a very satisfying lunch session.
While waiting for our food, one of my colleagues eager to learn how to take food pictures to share to his friends. Therefore, we all took out our phones and started to snap all the way. From the plain water to coffee, we tried a few shots.
And I randomly took the interior and crowd in this restaurant. It is pretty okay business for them during the lunch time. The restaurant setting is considered as simple but I do not so like to have too many light bulbs.Below is the group picture of our food for the day including main dishes, drinks and desserts.
Their signature dish, the Miam Miam Spaghetti. The spaghetti cooked al-dente and the ingredients were enough for each bite. The ingredients include the bacon strips, the soft boiled egg, some tomatoes and vegetable. The taste is just alright for myself, it is not too salty because of having the bacons. Do mix the soft boiled egg together before start eating.
After mixing it, my colleague told me, the spaghetti has turned into a plate of Cantonese Fried Noodle. Another spaghetti that you may wish to try is the Riz Noir Squid Ink Pasta.
Next, the Souffle De Nuage. To be honest, I have no idea what is this dish and I have to get the description from the Internet, “Home-style fresh tomato sautéed rice topped with fluffy clouds of egg and cheese.”
The fluffy clouds of egg and cheese on the top makes it very presentable. Lastly, it is our desserts, the Chocolate Souffle. It is really melt in my mouth. Great piece.
French toasts which you cannot get it wrong at any restaurants.

Manhattan Fish Market
Dinner with two other colleagues on a random night. Pre-selection was given to them and one of them chose MFM. So, we packed and headed for dinner. It was a lucky night, there was no queue in front of us and we got our table in less than 10 mins. Compared to our previous attempt, the queue was long and we ended up at Fish and Co.
Selecting a catch was not too hard and I opted to try new menu. Sorry, suddenly forget its name. It consists of fish and squid with some unique sauce on it. It comes with rice and vegetables. I chose to add on with drink and soup of the day, the beetroot. My dinner partners gave me a worried look when I chose to have beetroot and the waiter offered to change it to salads if I wished to. I still chose to try.
The soup is great, it is not bad at all. It is really a good try. As for my main dish, the unique sauce is the everything for the whole dish, without it, you just feel like eating plain-grilled seafood. And the rest is the food of my dinner’s partners.

It is a challenge to me to eat an ice-cream when I feel cold or at a winter country. Caffe Bene, Myeongdong,Seoul which is located right at the exit 8 of Myeongdong station. It is one of the famous brand in Korea and can be found in Malaysia too. I’m not sure if the Singapore’s branch has been opened for public.
The dessert for the Day 1’s night was the yoghurt favoured ice cream. It does sound too plain but the sourness of the yoghurt made me feel very appetizing after walking home from Namdaemun for dinner.
Brunch time. It is the Grub breakfast set comes with a cup of coffee or tea or canned drink. You can choose between the chicken cheese or the garlic thyme pork sausage. It comes with scramble eggs with grilled focaccia, mushroom and salads. It is a big breakfast.
I like the way how the mushroom is cooked. It is really delicious. Put some scrambled egg on top of the grilled focaccia with some mushroom, then topped with the sausage and sauce then put all of them into my mouth. Superb!
By the way, I just search what is actually focaccia? And results return saying it is more like a pizza. The bread tastes with salt, is not like the normal bread and it has the chewy texture.
An achievement unlocked for today, I tried to drink black coffee with a little sugar. I have cut down my intake on sugar for quite a long time. This breakfast set comes with black coffee instead of white coffee. It tastes bitter to me and I feel hard to adjust. I will try again next time.

It is not a usual me to travel all the way to the Tampines Round Market for a lunch. It is a teams’ lunch with 8 of us, taking the bus to the market for a try of the famous kway chap that suddenly boomed up.
They said, it was very worth for the number of minutes of waiting and queuing to get your lunch. You would definitely like it.
It takes 40 minutes for us to get our meals. They are selling it in individual portion and a group of n people sharing the dishes. We tried the $28 for four persons in the first round and we have many things on it.
Then, on our second time visiting the same stall, we ordered the same package, $28 and shared with 6 persons.
So, what is my saying? I am not a kway chap person, but this is absolutely has my thumbs up. I am okay with its spiced broth and the amount of flat white translucent rice flour noodle. The combination of soup and noodles is just nice for each serving. You will not dry your soup with noodle leftover. Best thing is I do not feel thirsty after that.
The ingredients are well braised with the spiced broth and sauce. I like the braised meat, tofu, eggs and beancurd puffs You can add some chili before eating it, for extra kick.

유가네(Yoogane): The most popular Chicken Galki in Korea which is originated from Busan. You can find it in Singapore which are located in Bugis Junction and WestGate.
I bumped into this restaurant by accident. I did not know how famous it is before entering this restaurant. But hey, I have new discoveries and it is lunch time, everywhere is full with people, so does this restaurant. I went through their menu which is available on their restaurant’s wall too and decided to try the basic entry for a try.
Chicken marinated galki set with chicken meat, cabbages, potatoes and rice cakes. It is not spicy though it looks like. The chicken is well marinated. It is not small portion as it is filling and good enough for one person.
In Seoul, somehow you do not have to worry that you do not know how to cook it, the staffs will handle it for us and they are more than willing to help us up and doing the job. Now, it is ready to be served. They gave me an apron to wear before they start cooking. I do not know why…
