Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut, Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Just like normal Sunday, we will head out for lunch especially whenever I am back in KL. It is more convenient for me to settle my lunch outside and get prepared to leave for Singapore. One of the choices is the Pizza Hut. We ordered the set lunch for two persons which consists of a bowl of spaghetti, a pan pizza, a side dish and two mushroom soups.

Their Chicken Bolognese is very delicious, saucy and rich. I like it and will prefer the pasta to be cooked al-dente.

The side dish for this visit, we are able to try something new from Pizza Hut. They offer the creamy fondue with garlic bread. It looks pretty good with the presentation. The creamy fondue is rich and it goes well with garlic bread. Eating the garlic bread alone, do not have much taste, unlike the traditional garlic breads.

Cups N Canvas

Cups N Canvas, Selegie Road, Singapore.
I love this art cafe which is located at Selegie Road, Singapore. The cafe is comfortable, quiet and relaxing. I did not explore the art area, I am not an artist and not good on that too. I chose the stool seats at the back of the cafe, just right before the backyard or the outdoor seats. On the hot and sunny day, it is best to choose staying indoor.

My friend highly recommends me to try the specialty drink of this cafe, the Sweet Potato Coffee. I first heard of it was when I was in Holly’s Seoul, South Korea. I did not try back then in Seoul.

The sweet potato coffee sounds odd and tastes as sweet as you added sugars on it. It is a good combination and taro will make you feel full. Let us have a top view of the drink to conclude the posting today.

Hoshino Coffee

Hoshino Coffee, Capitol Piazza, Singapore.
I have been to this Japanese cafe at Capitol Piazza for twice and both occasions are for colleagues’ farewell. We went there in a group of people, so this restaurant is one of the good place to cater big group of people.

During my first time visit, I could not try the Japanese hand drip coffee and this time I ordered it. I was a bit disappointed when I found out the hand drip coffee was served to me in a ready-to-be-served condition as shown above. I am looking forward to see the dripping process and being explained on how to handle it. Sad, it is a fake experience.

It is a black coffee when it is served and they give us some milk if you want to add them in. Unfortunately, due to the disappointment, I did not even try the black coffee and added the milk into my coffee.

Then, I wonder, what does it means by “Refill” option? If we order this coffee, we can opt to refill with additional cost. However, what is the purpose of refill when the most important experience is not there?

Okay, back to the coffee, it is not strong with caffeine, taste similarly to Americano. For this price, it would be better to choose other drink and forget about the dripping experience.

Pecori Japanese Egg Restaurant

Pecori Japanese Egg Restaurant, Liang Court, City Hall, Singapore.
On one of the raining Friday’s afternoon, we decided to have our late lunch and it was at a far away place. We travelled by bus to Liang Court to have our lunch. What made us travelled so far for a lunch? It is because of the supermarket, Medi-ya.

And we tried the omurice which is located inside Meidi-ya supermarket. I tried the tomato pork tonkatsu omu which I saw in the menu stating recommended. The tomato sauce is tangy and generous to the amount of rice. The pork cutlet portion is big, hot and crispy when it was served. It is slight different omurice that I tried at Hoshino Coffee.

Another try by my colleague was with the cream sauce which looked great as well. I did not asked how it tasted because, I believe cream sauce taste cannot be any differences.

Lighthouse

The Lighthouse, Lavender, Singapore.

It is an impromptu dinner with a group of four people after an evening run at the usual route. That night was a quiet night with two groups of people in the restaurant.

I choose the seafood angel hair pasta with sambal as my main course. It is a fusion cuisine, mixing western with local hot and spicy flavour. The prawns are fresh and crunchy. Good to give a try or even try to cook one on my own.

We shared a lot of travel stories during the dinner especially on my friend’s stories about her recent road trip in Australia. Also, another road trip in Iceland from another male friend. Those stories do make me feel it is time to travel again.

Fu Zhan Seafood

The second time visit to this zi char in Toa Payoh, Singapore. It was a gathering with some colleagues upon my return from Malaysia and before another colleague left for Australia for her road trip.

This time we ordered few more dishes apart from the default ones such as the salted egg crab and prawns with fried oats that normally my colleague will order. It is good to get to try new things with more people.

New discovery dishes for this visit are the chai bo beancurd and the curry fish head. The fish head is really good and the gravy is best to mix with the white rice. By eating the curry fish head half of the rice on my plate has gone, hahaa 🙂

Do not forget the free dessert, the red bean soup. I think it is their default dessert and their dessert is nice too. Maybe, if you wish to eat their dessert, it would be great that you do not order many dishes, unless you have extra stomach for desserts!

Fu Zhan Seafood

Chinese style zi char at the housing area’s coffee shops and nearby the wet market. It is very affordable zi char especially when it is located at HDB flats. I was introduced to eat the salted egg crabs here by my friend. Well, I am not a big fan of crab, I do not know which ones are the best.

By the presentation itself, it does look great, delicious, drooling and tempting. They gave us enough gravy to eat the crab with rice or the bun (man tao) which have to order separately.

Besides the crab, the prawns with fried oats is another good to try dish according to my friend and we added a mixed vegetable to complete our meal of the night. Simple and filling dinner with great companion of the night. This is a share for three persons.
