Recently, I revisited this stall at Hong Lim Food Centre because of the cashback event from DBS Paylah app. I used the app to get my coffee or breakfast set. It was pretty good until the recent visit, I realized that the toast portion seemed shrunk a lot.
Their coffee is sock-brewed the traditional way, which is less time-consuming. Sock-brewed coffee is something that Singaporeans are very familiar with, and it is inexpensive. They use Robusta beans are used in making traditional kopi drinks. These are roasted with sugar and margarine, which she highlighted brings out the natural flavours of the beans while keeping the cost low. – Picked up the info from TodayOnline.com

The price seemed to increase and the portion of the toast seemed to shrink. Inside the paper bag, it has two pieces of bread. On their menu board, the kaya butter toast costs SGD3.00, excluding drinks.

The same kaya butter toast but the portion was double. It is true inflation in Singapore. I felt I enjoyed it more back then, and I think it is too expensive for me to have a toast at this coffee stall.
Moving forward,
While there are other flavoured toasts recommended by Singapore food bloggers, I think I will just get a cup of their local coffee or flavoured coffee. Their drink is still generous. If you are keen to try a full morning Singaporean breakfast, we can get it somewhere else. Furthermore, another local coffee brand, Generation Coffee Roasters (#01-59) opens at the same food centre.
