Lunch & Afternoon Tea, Malaysia - Bukit Bintang, Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Food, Non-Halal Food, Western Food

Pig & Wolf

Pig & Wolf, Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Address: 7.01.07 & E7.01.07 Level 7, Pavilion Mall, 168, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It has been a while since my last visit to Pavilion and now, it has a new wing called Pavilion Elite with many branded outlets and restaurants situated at this new wing. Besides that, I came across a another new wing in the old Pavilion, the Level 7 which has plenty of restaurants there.

One of them is the Pig and Wolf. It is a non-Halal restaurant. My apologies to all my Muslim readers.

According to the Pavilion’s website, Pig and Wolf restaurant is a subsidiary of the popular 3 Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf. It is a casual dining restaurant that offers a mixture of Western and Asian cuisines. It offers from pork burgers, pasta to pork ribs.

Together with my friend, we explored this new restaurant. Initially, we wanted to order the set meal which comes with a soft drink and soup of the day. However, after looking at the a la carte dishes, we decided to order separately which we can have what we wanted to try.

During our visit they were doing a ‘Buy 1 Free 1’ promotion for the coffee’s menu which we both felt it was a better offer than having the soft drinks from the set meal. So, my friend picked the Iced Mocha and I chose the Iced Latte. Their coffee is just right and does not need extra sugar syrup.

My friend spotted the luncheon meat fries on the menu and we ordered one basket to share together. It is a simple appetizer which we can do it at home too. The luncheon meat is slightly fried and it tastes nice and crispy.

We ordered the Mighty Porky Burger which is one of the recommended dish on their menu. The presentation of the burger is still alright with some salads on one side and wedges on the another side. I liked the crispy and hot wedges. As for the pork burger, the pork patty is slightly dry.

We ordered the Pork Steak too which was recommended by the waiter. The meat was well marinated and strong garlic smell. The meat is juicier than the pork burger and it has the same side dishes.

Overall, the food portion is good enough, maybe they can improve the taste of the food to be more attractive. The environment in the restaurant is good and quiet, suitable for big group of people as there are plenty of long tables in the restaurant. We spent our afternoon here for lunch and coffee.

Cafe, Desserts, Malaysia - Petaling Jaya, Malaysian Food

Whisk, Outpost

Address: G139, Ground Floor, Old Wing, One Utama Shopping Centre, 1, Lebuh Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, 47800, Malaysia.

After umpteen years didn’t visit One Utama, today is my first time stepping into this shopping centre after the free MRT ride from Pusat Bandar Damansara to Sungai Buloh, I disembarked at Bandar Utama MRT.

I was introduced to this little cafe, Whisk, Oupost. It is located next to Starbucks Coffee. The interior of the cafe looks vintage, used wooden tables and chairs. The compound is rather small and limited walking space or it looks crowded when everyone is sitting inside the cafe.

I was a bit shocked when I stepped into the cafe and found there was no pastries served at the counter. It was totally emptied. Then, I walked further into the cashier counter and found they were serving cakes too. We ordered a cake called Granny’s cake.

It is a nice cake to try, the taste is just okay and not too sweet. It goes well with my Iced Latte. Just a little comment, I find it a bit pricey for a little cuppa of latte. If I were to compare with the Starbucks next door, probably I will prefer to go Starbucks next time, at least I can collect my loyalty points and free wifi too.

Cafe, Lunch & Afternoon Tea, Singapore - Bedok, Singaporean Food

To-gather Cafe

To-gather Cafe, Bedok, Singapore.
Again, we meet up at another cafe. This round my friend brought me to this cafe which is located at the Bedok neighborhood. He told me it is open by his sister’s friend and the price at this cafe is reasonable.

Come, let’s check out what we have ordered.

I got myself a Baked Japanese Curry Rice which I was told it’s quite nice and I did a research online, it is one of the recommendations. So, is great? Yes, it is delicious. The curry taste and sauce are rich and thick, and with the additional cheese on top of the rice, it is near to its perfection. If you are a small eater, the rice portion is just rice and it is filling at a while.
I ordered Iced Chocolate, not a normal drink that I usually order when I go for cafe. I wanted to have something cold and Iced Latte was not my choice. But it looks great too, the Iced Latte.

My friend ordered the Big Breakfast which comes with an fried egg, sausage, potato wedges, bacon and salad. It looks great too and the portion looks reasonable okay. Both the rice and big breakfast costs less than $10.00

The shop is quite crowded during the lunch time, especially on the Saturday when we visited the cafe. And normally, people make bookings.

Address: 84 Bedok North Street 4, # 01-25 / 27, Singapore 460084
Ambiance: Crowded although it has expended to next door. So, better be earlier if you want to have brunch or lunch.
Rating: 4.5/5. Close to perfect.

Fast Food, Halal Food

It is pretty sorry for a sudden last minutes catch up with a friend. It is after working hour and I have an hour to spend before heading for a talk in Bangsar. Nu Sentral in KL Sentral is just opened and I walked around there and it is a big shopping centre. We headed up to the top floor and settled down at McCafe instead of keep looking around for a place.

We ordered a cup of Cappuccino and an Iced Latte with a brownie.
Correct me if I were wrong, the brownie supposed to be served warm and soft textured. However, this brownie was not warm enough inside the microwave and the texture was hard. I was quite surprised through. Last time, I tried the brownie from Secret Recipe was great.
